From a Napkin to the Net

By: | April 4th, 2015

Ever visited the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville?  Well, when you go there, you see display case after display case of the mementoes that comprise the history of that genre of American music.  While most of the lyrics and music of country music were written on plain paper, some of the most interesting parts of the displays are the different materials on which the past, present, and future stars of the Grand Old Opry wrote their hit songs.  There are scraps of cloth, the backs of shirts, envelopes, and napkins with the lyrics and music that formed the genesis of a great song idea.

Napkins?  Well, Todd Withrow, president of NicheLocal an Atlanta-based company, went to a restaurant recently with a prospect, Kaitlin McShea, to discuss a custom design website for her new business and viola!  Todd sketched his vision of the new website on a restaurant napkin and a website was born.

Kaitlin McShea is a creative person…an artist and designer…and she was concerned about hiring someone to create a website.  Could a website designer see her vision and incorporate her ideas into a creative way of telling her audience about her new business and its services and products?

The end result? Todd Withrow took the artist’s challenge and went about designing a beautiful and creative website for Kaitlin McShea.  Take a look at the new website, www.kaitlinmcshea.com.   The Home Page immediately gives the reader what services and products Kaitlin McShea offers her customers and prospects:

  • Graphic Design for companies which need to design logos and other visual services.
  • Interior Design.  For glamorous design touches, Kaitlin offers consulting services which will brighten any home or office.
  • Fine Art.  Ms. McShea is also a painter whose mediums include acrylics, watercolors, and oils. You will be able to view and purchase her original works and fine art prints at the First Annual Holiday Showcase of the Athens Artist Market on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 11 am until 7 pm at The Hotel Indigo in Athens, Georgia.  The website for the event is:  www.athensartistmarket.com.  Come enjoy this event and meet the artist!
  • Historic Preservation.  Kaitlin completed a Masters degree in Historic Preservation in 2010 at the University of Georgia.  Her online portfolio includes projects she completed for her Masters coursework at UGA.

The new website, www.kaitlinmcshea.com features a NicheLocal custom-designed integrated into WordPress, a Content Management System which allows Kaitlin to edit and delete her website pages and content.  This system saves her time and money.   NicheLocal provided training for Kaitlin in order to make sure that she knows how to use the system.

As Kaitlin McShea says,  “I am extremely pleased with my new website! NicheLocal tackled problems I was having with organizing the information in my portfolio and created a website for me that reflects my personal style…and it is easy for my clients and prospects to use my website, too.  NicheLocal provided me with great customer service from start to finish.  Having a website that looks great and works well for my customers and me gives me the confidence I need to grow my business.”

Will the www.kaitlinmcshea.com website design napkin make it into a display case in the NicheLocal Hall of Fame?  Who knows?  However, what is known is that NicheLocal has created another winning website which will help a start-up business to become a success!
